About Malta

In 1964 Malta gained its independence from Britain and for the last 44 years, we have managed our own affairs independently and successfully. Malta is situated in the heart of the Mediteranean and have good telecommunications well equiped ports and Freeport, and with a sophisticated business environment have put Malta in a well regulated yet adaptable European Finanacial Services industry.

The country joined the EU in May 2004 and was one of the first six countries in the world to reach an accord on fiscal matters with the OECD.

The MFSA ( Malta Financial Services Authority ) established on the 23 July 2002 amongst other things manages the Registry of Companies.
